At Stone Horse Apiary & Apothecary, we focus on breeding Varroa-Sensitive Hygiene (VSH) queens to support strong, resilient colonies with enhanced natural resistance to Varroa mites.
 
Our queens are bred from laboratory-inseminated breeder stock, carefully selected to preserve and reinforce key genetic traits associated with mite resistance, hygienic behavior, and overall colony health.
 
In addition to our breeder queens, we offer open-mated stock from second and third-generation VSH lines. While open-mating introduces genetic variability, it also contributes to long-term colony resilience.
 
By combining controlled breeding with natural selection, we aim to provide beekeepers with queens that help manage Varroa mite pressures while maintaining healthy, productive colonies suited to diverse beekeeping environments.
